To Complete your Arizona Real Estate Continuing Education Requirement You Must:

• Any individual applying for real estate license renewal shall complete 24 credit hours, of which a minimum of three hours must be completed in each of the following six categories (totaling 18 hours of mandatory courses)
1. Agency law
2. Contract law
3. Commissioner's standards
4. Real estate legal issues
5. Fair housing
6. Disclosure†

†(Note: The Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE) will be requiring individuals who renew their license on or after July 1, 2004 to complete a three hour course on the topic of "Disclosure" as listed above.

• The other six hours are elective courses, which cover the "General" category.
• Ariz. Admin. Code R4-28-402 (C) A person shall not receive credit for more than nine hours of continuing education classes per day.

Sales agents renew every two years from the dates their licenses were received.

How does a course work?

Each Arizona real estate continuing education course is divided into lessons that take about 20–30 minutes on the average. Each lesson consists of text with multiple choice questions mixed in. The text is presented one small, easy-to-understand sentence or paragraph at a time. After a few screens of text, you will answer a few questions about what you have read. As you progress through the lesson, the learning process keeps track of how you are doing on the questions. After all the text is presented, the computer will go back to the questions you missed or had problems with and review them in random order. You’ll keep working on the lesson until you’ve answered all the questions correctly on two occasions. At that point, the lesson will be marked as complete on the main menu. You can quit a lesson at any time and a bookmark will save your place, so you don't have to repeat work you've already done when you return to a lesson.

Completing the Course

All the lessons for the course are completed online. Each hour of approved credit will take approximately one hour of computer time to complete. The 24 hours of Arizona real estate continuing education courses will take approximately 24 hours to complete. You may access the online course immediately and begin working as soon as you complete the registration process.

Final Exams

Students will be required to pass a final exam to satisfy all of the continuing education requirements in Arizona.
